Leicester City were keen on Stade Brestois midfielder Ibrahima Diallo in January and could return for him in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Onze Mondial, who believe Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers could have the 20-year-old on his shortlist when he looks to add to his squad in the coming months.
Leicester currently sit third in the Premier League after an impressive first full season under Rodgers and look extremely likely to secure Champions League football for next season.
Should they do so, they will be keen to add to their squad to ensure they do not suffer as they did the last time they qualified for European football.
And according to Onze, Diallo could be one they have on their list after showing interest in him during the January transfer window.
Ultimately he never moved, but Stade Brestois are expecting interest in future, with manager Olivier Dall’Oglio recently admitting that “more upscale clubs than Stade Brestois came to learn about him.”
Leicester are seemingly among them, and it remains to be seen if they revive their previous interest, although it would certainly make sense.
While Rodgers has plenty of options in central midfield, he does not have a direct backup or competitor for Hamza Choudhury, something which has hurt them this season.
Diallo would be an ideal deputy in that regard and, at 20-years-old, fits perfectly into the Foxes mantra of signing young players to be developed for the future.
