Adam Ounas is on his way out of Napoli this summer and has been linked with a number of potential options.
Earlier this month it was reported in Italy that the player’s agent was looking to take him to the Premier League, with West Ham pushed forward as an option. A potential transfer fee was estimated between €15m and €18m.
That went quiet, and Wednesday’s edition of Corriere del Mezzogiorno reports Leicester City are keen and have offered to increase his salary. Ounas, an attacking midfielder, currently earns €1.5m a season, and the Foxes are prepared to pay him €2.2m, with both figures likely to be after tax.
With Cagliari valuing their player at more than €35m, including Ounas would bring the figure down by some way, with Corriere del Mezzogiorno putting the player’s value at €15m.
Leicester, meanwhile, would want to pay less than €10m.
Ounas’ view on the situation isn’t given, yet it would be expected he’d want Cagliari to match the €2.2m if Leicester are truly offering that.
