There’s no doubt we’ll continue seeing many stories from the Italian press about managers who could be taking charge of Premier League sides this summer.
Now it’s newspaper Tuttosport who comes up with the news, and as they claim that Simone Inzaghi could be on his way out of Lazio, it’s said England could be his next destination.
There are two options named in the story, and those are Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur, even though there aren’t many details on their chases.
As Spurs have been looking for a manager since the departure of José Mourinho, Tuttosport takes their interest as no surprise, claiming that ‘besides’ the London side, the Foxes are also in interested in the 45-year-old.
Inzaghi is still to take a decision on his future with Lazio, and since they’re unlikely to get a spot in the Champions League for next season, that could encourage him to go somewhere else. The manager is said to be ‘reflecting on his future’ and should meet club president Claudio Lotito to talk about it at the end of the season.
Several Italian managers have been linked to Tottenham job in the past couple of weeks, with the local media linking the likes of Antonio Conte, Massimiliano Allegri and Maurizio Sarri to the position. So Inzaghi is another one for the list.
In Leicester City’s case, that sounds more surprising, as Brendan Rodgers doesn’t look close to leaving the Foxes. Perhaps that’s a rumour which could grow if the manager chooses to take another job in the summer.
