TMW have a rather unusual claim on Thursday evening.

The Italian website are covering Torino interest in Barcelona’s Moussa Wague, and it’s stated they’re set to face competition from Leicester City.

Brendan Rodgers is presented as feeling he needs an addition or two to help the club secure Champions League football for next season, and the Barca defender has been chosen.

According to the claims, contact has been initiated and Leicester are making a genuine effort at this ‘surprise’ signing.

Torino interest had been well known, and when covered in Spain it was explained the Serie A club are looking for a loan. The 21 year old right back was said to be keen on such a move, due to his lack of minutes under Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde.

Leicester City certainly don’t need a right back to help them achieve Champions League qualification, and it’s unlikely they’d want Wague on a loan basis.

This is a curious story, and perhaps just something to put pressure on Torino to hurry up.
