Tottenham Hotspur continue being pointed out as one of the contenders for Sampdoria winger Mikkel Damsgaard in the summer.

The news comes from the Spanish press, where AS features a story on the ‘hard battle’ for the arrival of the 20-year-old.

They bring a big list of clubs who should battle for the Danish player. While Tottenham and Leicester City are said to be interested in taking him to the Premier League, there are also the likes of Inter Milan, Juventus and Roma trying to keep him in Italy.

Sampdoria are said to be aware they have a ‘different player’ on their hands. And after spending €7m on his signing in the summer, they would now demand three times that for the sale. They’re in no hurry to make the transfer.

Regarding Tottenham’s interest, AS says there’s been a recommendation from former coach José Mourinho and Damsgaard’s compatriot Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. Meanwhile, Leicester City are said to have the player in their ‘buy list’ for next season.
