Last month, we covered claims from Germany which stated Leicester City were eyeing a move for VfL Wolfsburg’s Patrick Wimmer in the winter market.
The Premier League club weren’t able to secure his services and are still in the picture to sign him.
That’s according to Bild, and they cover Leicester’s interest in the winger who has starred for the German club this year.
The Austria international has a goal and two assists from six games this year. The report says he’s one of the players to improve under Ralph Hasenhüttl. His recent performances have not gone unnoticed.
Bild name the Foxes as an interested party, along with ‘top clubs’ AC Milan and Juventus, and these three clubs are chasing the 23-year-old.
His contract lasts until 2027, but the report states he wants to take the next step in his career in the summer window. The Foxes are 19th in the table, two points behind 17th placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Leicester would have to stay in the Premier League to try and beat the Serie A duo for the Austrian’s signature.
Transfermarkt currently values Wimmer at €12m but the price could rise if he continues to shine until the end of this season.
