The King Power Stadium was not the only football ground where Islam Slimani’s goal for Leicester City against Porto was celebrated last night.
Reports from Portugal say the goal had a big response at the Estádio José Alvalade, where Sporting CP were playing Legia Warsaw for the Group F.
The striker scored in England while his former club were still drawing their match, but it didn’t stop the Sporting fans from celebrating the goal against their league rivals. Record says that the “Super Slim” chant was also sang.
Known as the Dragon Slayer, this was Slimani’s seventh goal against Porto in nine matches.
The 28-year-old moved from Sporting to Leicester City this summer for €30m. He already has three goals in four matches for the Foxes and didn’t take long to convince fans he’s the right man to play alongside Jamie Vardy in the team’s attack.
