On Tuesday, we relayed news from L’Équipe that Fousseni Diabaté was expected to leave Leicester City this season on loan, but the move had yet to be announced.
The Premier League side were said to have agreed a season long transfer for the Mali international with Amiens SC in France, but everyone was waiting on the LFP (French league committee) to approve the deal.
No reason was given at the time as to why the 23-year-old’s move was being held up, but Courrier Picard in France know it’s not because of anything the Ligue 1 club did.
It’s reported the two sides are hoping this deal will be ratified by the LFP sooner rather than later in order for the player to join and then get some first-team football in a country he already knows well.
Diabaté spent the second half of last season on loan at Sivasspor in Turkey where he performed well, scoring two goals and assisting teammates three times in 17 appearances.
