Leicester City’s interest in the Benfica right-back André Almeida continues to be taken very seriously in Portugal. After reports from two different newspapers yesterday, the same outlets now come with updates this Tuesday.
In case you haven’t read what they said, it was claimed that Leicester City officials had watched the player in the weekend, and are now interested in bringing him to the Premier League in the January transfer window.
Now starting with O Jogo’s update, they write that Leicester City will be asking for Almeida’s price very soon. But the situation isn’t very good as right-back Douglas is leaving the club in January, Benfica will only sell Almeida if they can pick up a decent replacement in the transfer window.
Record has a similar response, saying Benfica won’t make his departure an easy one because of his importance to the team.
They claim that it was Eduardo Macia, Leicester’s Head of Senior Player Recruitment, who watched the player in the weekend, which means that the Foxes are taking things very seriously already.
The newspaper claims that money isn’t a problem for the Premier League side, and that will have a lot to do with the price to be agreed.
Benfica don’t want to sell, and he has a €30m release clause, so now we all know what the demanded price is gonna be.
According to O Jogo, the player is being followed by other Premier League clubs as well.
