Manchester City have been repeatedly linked with a move for Steven N’Zonzi, but Pep Guardiola’s club aren’t even mentioned in a L’Equipe article on the Sevilla’s player’s future.
The French article sounds very well informed and claims that Leicester City interest has been real, and the club met with N’Zonzi’s ‘entourage’ a few weeks ago. After that meeting, Leicester decided to go for Wilfred Ndidi instead.
N’Zonzi’s people are clearly listening to transfer offers, having met Leicester, but it’s Juventus and not Manchester City who come up next. L’Equipe say the possibility of a move to Turin is ‘concrete’.
Having refused a Sevilla renewal offer, which L’Equipe say would have increased his buyout clause from €30m to €50m, N’Zonzi is said to be well aware that major clubs are interested in him.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, in quotes carried in the current edition, N’Zonzi recently said: “I don’t miss the Premier League, no. I love it here. It feels like the whole city is behind the team. We feel so tough to beat at home because the fans are incredible.”
Those fans may well be upset if the 28 year old now signs for Juve.
