Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell has been regularly linked with a move to Chelsea this summer.

The England international has been first choice left-back for the Foxes and the uncertainty around his future has seen Brendan Rodgers’ side look for a potential replacement in the transfer market.

That’s what Calciomercato.it are reporting, and they state Leicester have identified Ajax’s Nicolás Tagliafico as a ‘alternative to Chilwell’.

The Argentina international has been on the radar of Inter Milan and Napoli. However, it’s the Premier League club who have taken the necessary steps to sign the 27-year-old.

According to the report, Leicester are ‘already negotiating’ and ‘negotiations are well underway’ for the fullback’s transfer.

However, it’s not made clear if the negotiations are between the two clubs or between Rodgers’ side and the player.

The website adds the Eredivisie club are ‘asking for €45m’ for the South American, who has two years left on his contract.

Tagliafico has five goals and seven assists in all competitions for Ajax in the 2019/20 season.
