With five goals and two assists in 30 league appearances for Bologna, Mattias Svanberg has caught the attention of many clubs this season.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Serie A side for quite some time now, with the likes of Burnley, Leicester City and Southampton all mentioned as interested parties in the past.
That continues on Thursday, as the Clarets, the Foxes and the Saints are all mentioned in a piece including Svanberg published by Il Resto del Carlino.
Alongside Takehiro Tomiyasu, the midfielder is one of the players in the Bologna squad being watched by Premier League sides in a summer where the Italians need to sell in order to fund their own transfer market.
That doesn’t mean they will necessarily sacrifice Svanberg, but he is among their most valuable assets.
As for the interested parties, it’s stated Bunley ‘have been following him for some time’, while both Southampton and Leicester have ‘also gathered information’ on the Swede.
We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this, but with Sean Dyche, Brendan Rodgers and Ralph Hasenhüttl all proposing attractive projects, it could all come down to offers him more game time.
Something to think about.
