At Fiorentina since 2016, Riccardo Sottil has slowly but surely become a key player for the Serie A side.
So much so, in fact, that he’s catching the eye of scouts from the Premier League, with Leicester City and Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly interested in the winger.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who state both the Foxes and the Seagulls ‘have asked for information about him’.
This comes as part of an article looking at who in Serie A could be at the centre of some attention during the January transfer market and beyond, with Sottil thrown into the mix.
With two assists in seven league games this season, he’s performing at a good level, which is clearly why Leicester and Brighton have taken an interest.
Brendan Rodgers’ side haven’t exactly had the best of starts to their Premier League campaign, as they currently sit bottom of the table, but there is hope the manager can turn the situation around.
Signings might be needed in January to achieve that, but we’ll have to wait and see whether Leicester decide to replace him with someone else before then, which could change targets.
As for Brighton, they are the complete opposite to Leicester, have enjoyed a thunderous start to the campaign, and they would be the more attractive of the two.
They can now also boast an Italian connection, as they recently replaced Graham Potter with Roberto De Zerbi, which could see them being linked with more and more Serie A players going forward.
