Missing out on Champions League football, Leicester City may have a couple of small problems regarding their players if big clubs come knocking.
Among those in their squad who have been linked with a move away over the past few months, few have been as popular in the media as Ben Chilwell.
The left-back has excelled in his role under Brendan Rodgers, and clubs of Chelsea’s and Manchester City’s ilk are rumoured to be keen on a summer move.
That’s why it isn’t surprising to see the Foxes looking at potential replacements for the England international, with Rayan Aït-Nouri making a lot of sense.
The tidbit of information comes from Foot Mercato, who state in an article about Manchester City and Manchester United making ‘concrete’ bids for the 19-year-old, that Leicester ‘asked for information’ about the Angers SCO starlet in ‘the recent past’.
It doesn’t appear to have gone beyond that for now, which probably says a lot about the Premier League club’s confidence in keeping their starting left-back for the foreseeable future.
Still, better safe than sorry and all that.
