At the end of March, Blikk reported Fenerbahçe’s Attila Szalai is wanted by Leicester City.

The Foxes are not the only English club keen on the defender as West Ham United have now joined the chase.

That’s according to Turkey’s NTV Spor, who provide a short report on the 23-year-old, who joined the Yellow Canaries from Cyprus side Apollon Limassol in the winter market.

It’s claimed the Hungary international is closely followed in the Premier League, and both Brendan Rodgers’ side and the Hammers get a mention.

Both the English clubs are said to be in the market for a left footed centre-back and have included Szalai’s name in their transfer list for this summer.

The player is currently preparing for Euro 2020 with his national team.

NTV Spor state Leicester and David Moyes’ side will ‘closely follow’ Szalai during the UEFA tournament and the two sides could take official steps to sign him after the Euros.

Szalai has four years left on his contract and Fenerbahçe don’t have plans to sell him. However, that could change if they receive a ‘high-level’ offer.
