Nottingham Forest have joined Leicester City in the chase for Lyon’s Houssem Aouar this summer.
Three days ago, Foot Mercato reported the midfielder has become a priority target for the Foxes.
The same website have now come up with a report, titled: ‘Leicester and Nottingham launch hostilities for Houssem Aouar’.
Aoaur’s contract expires in 2023 and he seems ‘close to leaving’ the Ligue 1 side. Real Betis were close to acquiring his services, but that hasn’t happened so far. The La Liga side are now joined by the two English clubs.
Foot Mercato explain Leicester ‘would like to double’ the offer made by Real Betis. They are not alone as Nottingham Forest are also interested in the France international.
Steve Cooper’s side appreciates the player’s profile and could soon submit an offer to Lyon. The report states the newly promoted Premier League side’s interest could wake up the two other clubs.
The player favours a move to England this summer and this could be an issue for Betis. Lyon’s leaders can open the door for his departure if there is a €15m offer.
