Ilia Gruev’s ‘impressive’ debut season at Leeds United hasn’t gone unnoticed, according to Sky Deutschland.

The midfielder clocked in 2,334 minutes from 35 games after arriving at Leeds at the end of August 2023 from Werder Bremen.

His form for Leeds has ‘piqued the interest’ of several clubs. This includes Bundesliga sides, and Sky only mention Borussia Dortmund, who have been following the 24-year-old for a long time.

Last month, Daniel Farke’s side lost the Championship play-off final against Southampton. The report states Dortmund official Sven Mislintat and representatives from other clubs were at Wembley.

The Bulgaria international’s deal lasts until 2027. According to Sky, the Whites are keen on retaining him, and they have already turned down offers from the Premier League for the player.

This was before the play-off final, and the report doesn’t mention which Premier League sides tabled offers for Gruev.

However, the Championship side could change their stance as several clubs continue to show interest in the midfielder.

Sky now say Leeds would be ‘willing to talk for a certain sum’ to sell the Bulgarian in the summer window, without mentioning any figures.
