Leeds United boss Garry Monk has been given a boost after it was revealed  Pontus Jansson will only play 45 minutes in Sweden’s clash with Portugal tomorrow night. With an away trip to promotion rivals Reading at the weekend Monk will need all his key players to be fresh going into the crucial game.

Aftonbladet have reported on Janne Andersson’s press conference today in which the Sweden coach confirmed Jansson will only come on at half time. The Leeds United star featured in last Friday’s clash with Belarus due to Victor Lindelof’s injury, and with the Benfica star failing to recover Jansson may have been asked to play the whole 90 minutes again.

However, Andersson has revealed Andrea Granqvist will play the first half and will be replaced by Jansson for the second. Only Bologna’s Filip Helander of the three central defenders at Andersson’s disposal will play the whole game.

Leeds United manager Garry Monk will need of his key players going into the clash with Reading on Saturday. The Elland Road side can open up a four point lead on Reading if they grab a victory at the weekend, but a loss will mean they drop down to 5th in the Championship table.
