Leeds United youngster Adrián Balboa appears to be on the verge of a move to Spain, with Cope reporting he is set to join Lorca this summer.

Balboa joined Leeds back in 2017, signing a five-year deal with the club and immediately went into their under 23 squad.

He’s yet to feature for the first team at Elland Road and has instead spent his time out on loan, the first a six-month loan spell with Terrassa FC and then FC Villafranca in the second half of last season.

A third loan now looks to be on the cards, with Cope saying he is waiting in England to complete the move, with the relevant paperwork currently holding up the process.

Lorca were hoping to have him available this weekend, but Thursday is a public holiday in Spain, and that could delay the paperwork going through, thus denying him the chance to feature in the Federation Cup on Saturday.

Nonetheless, the transfer is seemingly on the verge of completion and will see the Leeds youngster reunite with former manager Walter Pandiani, who gave him his debut for Masou before his move to Leeds.
