According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho is keen for Bright Osayi-Samuel to remain at the club.

There have been reports in the British media of interest from the pair, and it’s filtered back to Turkey that Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are showing interest in the defender.

The former Queens Park Rangers right back has just 12 months left on his contract with Fener, and of course that’s encouraged clubs from elsewhere to believe they can get him.

However, the latest reports coming out of Turkey say Fenerbahce are looking to tie the player down on the request of Mourinho.

Vatan state negotiations have already started to extend his contract beyond June 2025. Again, Vatan mention Leeds United and Wolves interest in the 26-year-old.

It’s reported there is no sign yet over an agreement with the Nigerian, but these developments will be a concern to the two English sides given Mourinho’s desire to keep him and the power he likely has having only just arrived.

Osayi-Samuel made 29 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, scoring three goals.
