Leeds United will have to increase their bid to sign NEC attacker Anthony Limbombe, according to claims in Holland. The Championship side have been linked with the Belgian youngster for the past year, with claims they recently put in a bid for the 21-year-old.
Voetbal Primeur have reported this morning Leeds United have had a €1.8m offer rejected by NEC because this is below the Dutch side’s valuation of the attacker.
Limbombe is keen to leave NEC this summer to progress his career, and the Eredivisie club this week brought in a like for like replacement for the former Belgium youth international.
However, NEC will not be pressured into selling him on the cheap in this transfer window, and are looking for offers up to €3m.
This is the second time Leeds United have had a bid rejected by NEC, following their attempts to sign the player for €1.5m 12 months ago.
Despite failing to land Limbombe they have continued to monitor the attacker throughout last season, when he was one of the standout players in the Dutch League.
