Pierre-Michel Lasogga to Leeds United continues to drag on, just as was predicted in the regional Hamburg media.

Lasogga visiting Leeds United on Saturday was seen as a sign by many that a transfer was imminent and, no surprise, sources popped up explaining an announcement was on the way very shortly.

And yet here we are on Tuesday, and Lasogga to Leeds United doesn’t feel further along. The reasoning is there’s no desperation on either side to get a deal done.

Leeds United won’t feel they’re getting the signing of the century in Lasogga, and the player himself may be keen, but it won’t be the opportunity he’s been dremaing of.

Hamburg, on the other hand, will be wanting to ease the deal through as they look to remove a big chunk of the player’s wages from their accounts.

This is needed so the German club can then recruit at the end of the window, and Hamburg’s planning is based around the genuine hope Lasogga to Leeds United will happen – or he’ll go somewhere else.

Hamburger Abendblatt report in their Tuesday edition the transfer is ‘still not certain’, but, again, the mention is part of a wider article looking at what needs to happen for HSV to spend.

Leeds United need to edge this one over the line, if Lasogga is truly the player they want.
