Jose Mourinho will forever be linked with Ivan Perisic, given his efforts to sign the player for Manchester United. So keen was the manager on the Croatian, that he was ready to let Anthony Martial leave Old Trafford in return for the Inter Milan player.
That didn’t happen, and as soon as Mourinho popped up at Tottenham Hotspur, claims about Spurs interest inevitably started.
FCInterNews report Tottenham, along with Leeds United, have ‘knocked on the door’ to see if they can take the player this summer. Inter would be ready to negotiate, however, the player’s desire is firmly elsewhere.
Spending this season on loan at Bayern Munich, and with a good chance of Champions League glory this month, Perisic is quite happy where he is, so Tottenham and Leeds wouldn’t stand much of a chance if it’s a straight competition.
Bayern don’t want to pay more than €10m for the 31 year old, and Inter are holding out for €15m. Should no agreement be found, Tottenham seems like a reasonable possibility, given the Mourinho history, but Perisic may be keen for Champions League football.
Leeds United would be a very unlikely move.
