Dundee manager Paul Hartley may need to face up to the fact his star forward Greg Stewart will be leaving the club this summer. Stewart has been linked with a move to the Championship throughout this transfer window, with both Leeds United and Birmingham City showing an interest.

Hartley is hoping to bring in a couple of new faces before the transfer deadline, but is now resigned to the fact keeping Stewart at he club is out of his control. Rather than focusing on keeping the 26-year-old at the club Hartley is now more concerned about bringing in new recruits, according to the Dundee Evening Telegraph.

With the funds raised from selling Kane Hemmings to Oxford United last month, the Dundee boss is now hoping to sign two defenders before the season starts.

Stewart is keen to get a move this summer, and has told Dundee he won’t be extending his contract with the SPL club beyond next summer. The Scottish club are prepared to sell the forward, but only for the right price, especially given they signed Faissal El Bakhtaoui from Dunfermline yesterday.

Leeds United have been showing an interest in recent weeks, whilst Birmingham City in the past week have tabled a bid for the attacker.
