Stuttgart midfielder Alexandru Maxim could face more disappointment this season, according to the German media. The Romanian international has been linked with a move to Leeds United in recent weeks, and could leave the German club in the summer.

Stuttgarter-Nachrichten have reported Maxim could experience new hardships in the coming months after his struggles this season. Maxim hasn’t been a regular in the starting eleven under Hannes Wolf this season, but has made the match day squad.

However, this could change given the options Wolf now has at his disposal, which would lead to Maxim watching from the stands. This isn’t likely to go down well with the player and his agent, who has hinted in recent weeks his client could move in the summer transfer window.

Last month Leeds United held initial talks with his agent to sign Maxim. These talks with Leeds United were confirmed by the player’s agent, but at the time he said he only expected his client to move in the summer, and to a club that suited Maxim.

Stuttgart boss Wolf has also given Leeds United encouragement by confirming the German side would listen to offers for Maxim because he has several players that can play in his position.
