Leeds United forward Marcus Antonsson has told the Swedish media he wants to play more games for the club. The Swede joined the Championship side in the last window from Kalmar, but has struggled to get games in Garry Monk’s team.

Ostrasmaland have reported on comments Antonsson made after yesterday’s U23 clash with Huddersfield Town, in which the forward scored a hat trick. Antonsson said he hopes now to be given more chances at Leeds United, and was happy with the three goals he scored.

The 25-year-old was pleased to be given a run out with the reserves, but now hopes to start the next game after his performance.

“I need matches and this was great. It was a good quality game. They were three good goals: One with the left, one with the right and the other with the head. I hope for a start after today’s performance,” says Antonsson.

Antonsson arrived at Elland Road in the summer, but due to the form of Chris Woods he’s found it difficult to get a regular place in the starting eleven. The attacker has made just eight league appearances in this campaign, scoring one goal.
