Aksam claim Leeds United are still interested in Besiktas winger Jeremain Lens ahead of the next window.
Last week we covered reports from Turkey that things were getting serious with Leeds United’s pursuit of Lens and that the Dutchman is an option for Championship side in the January transfer window.
Marcelo Bielsa is said to be keen on signing the former Sunderland player to boost his side’s promotion hopes.
It’s claimed Leeds United are looking to loan Lens with an option to buy after the 31 year old impressed during Besiktas’ Europa League win against Sarpsborg two weeks ago.
The Elland Road club sent a scout to the game but at the time, as we covered, it was suggested in Norway that the target was Russian goalkeeper Aleksandr Vasyutin.
Lens’ salary could be an issue for the English club, a reason Sunderland offloaded him in the summer.
He joined Besiktas from Sunderland for €4m and this season he’s played 18 games, scoring 5 goals.
