Leeds United star Pontus Jansson has urged his teammates to continue their good form or risk failing at the end of the season. Leeds United consolidated their play-off place last night by beating Birmingham City 3-1 thanks to two goals from Chris Wood and one from Alfonso Pedraza.
Speaking to the Swedish media earlier this week, Jansson was asked how he felt the season would turn out going into the final stages. The Leeds United defender believes Garry Monk has assembled a good squad, who must now remain focused.
“Generally, squad-wise and team-wise, we now focus on what’s to come, the upcoming match. It’s important that we focus on the present. We know we’re in a good position, but like we’ve done all season, we take it match by match. If we don’t do that, it’s gonna come back to bite us in the end,” said the Leeds United favourite.
The Yorkshire club face a tricky away tie in their next game when they meet fellow play-off hopefuls Fulham. Both clubs are looking to return to the Premier League next season, but have plenty of competition around them in the race for the four play-off spots.
Leeds United will be full of confidence right now but Jansson will do his best to make sure that doesn’t lead to complacency.
