Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has told the Danish media watching Malmo losing to FK Vadar on Tuesday night was the one of the worst experiences he’s had.

Defeat to the Macedonian club means Malmo have missed out on the chance of a trip across the Oresund Bridge to meet FC Copenhagen in the Champions League qualifiers. Jansson had plans to travel to Denmark to watch the away tie, if his beloved Malmo reached the next round.

Speaking to Expresssen the Leeds United star was asked about his former club’s elimination from the competition: “Without exaggeration, one of the worst feelings I’ve ever had. To miss them play FCK away, it will take time to digest this. It was not a good effort by MFF. The game did not work out.”

Despite leaving the Swedish club a few seasons ago the Leeds United player has never hidden the love he still has for Malmo. In recent months he’s spoken about returning to the club towards the end of his career, and even used their training facilities this summer to retain his fitness.

However, it seems he’s still committed to Leeds United, and their aim to get back into the Premier League.
