Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has labelled his international teammate John Guidetti a ‘cute guy’. Jansson has recently been away with Sweden during the international break.
Speaking to Aftonbladet, Jansson was asked who he thought the fans favourite was now in the new look Swedish set up. The Leeds United believes since key players retired after the Euros this summer he sees Guidetti as the one who the supporters look up to.
Jansson said he’s a grounded player, and has been impressive on the pitch for his country. The 25-year-old thinks the Celta Vigo forward has become the most important player for Sweden, but is also a nice person at the same time.
“He’s a nice guy, he has his feet on the ground, he takes it match by match. A rather cute guy as well (laughs). No, but he performs on the field, he is probably the most important player, but then he has his feet on the ground,” said the Leeds United star.
Jansson was finally awarded for his performances for Leeds United this season by getting much needed playing time for Sweden in the last two games. Swedish coach Janne Andersson sent Jansson on late in the game with France last week, followed by playing the full ninety minutes in the 2-0 win over Hungary on Tuesday night.
Whilst John Guidetti may be the guy who be Sweden’s next superstar, Leeds United fans know Pontus Jansson has the game to be a reliable rock at the back.
