Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has revealed he’s happy at the club, and is now waiting on owner Massimo Cellino to sort out his future. The Swede joined Leeds United on loan from Torino in the summer, and the deal can be made permanent once Jansson makes a certain number of appearances.
Speaking to the YEP, Jansson said he wanted to become a permanent fixture at Elland Road following his move in the summer, but it’s now down to Cellino. The central defender revealed his objective now is to get the club into the Premier League, and even though other clubs are monitoring him he only wants Leeds United.
“Seriously, that’s the only thing that I want now. I want to be here and to make a permanent deal with Leeds. I’m still waiting for that so it’s up to the president to do it now. I’m really happy and I’m here to take Leeds to the Premier League or the play-offs. If other clubs are coming to watch me then of course I am happy for that but my focus is on Leeds,” said the Sweden international.
Jansson has been linked with a move to the Premier League and Watford by the YEP after impressing for Leeds United this season. The 25-year-old has been one of Leeds United’s key players, and has been instrumental in Garry Monk’s side climbing up the Championship table.
