Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has revealed he wants to improve his disciplinary record. The Swede has been serving a two-match ban after picking up ten yellow cards this season.
In an interview with Sydsvenskan, Jansson was asked about his latest ban and whether he would try do anything about. The Leeds United star said because of his emotion on the pitch he has been picking up unnecessary yellow cars since arriving in England. Jansson revealed he wants to improve his disciplinary record, but realises it will be hard because of his style of play.
“I do not know why it has become like this. But there are a lot of emotions when I’m on the pitch. I’ve been given unnecessary bookings because of the fuss and commotion. Maybe I will think a little extra in the future, but I can’t change who I am, because I will not be as good,” said the Leeds United player.
Jansson has become a crowd favourite with the Elland Road faithful since he joined Leeds United from Torino in the summer. His no nonsense style has been admired by Leeds fans, but it’s landed him two bans in just over twenty games.
Jansson returns to the Leeds United squad for tonight’s clash with Nottingham Forest following his latest ban.
