Leeds United summer signing Pontus Jansson is again getting recognition in the Swedish media after his performance at the weekend. The Swede was in impressive form in Leeds United’s 2-0 at Cardiff City last weekend, which earned him a place in the EFL team of the week.

Fotbollskanalen have reported on Jansson being named in the team of the week, and they believe his Leeds United career is gathering more momentum after just three league appearances.

They point out the Sweden international has impressed in all of those Championship games to the point he’s now getting recognition from the EFL.

The same Swedish publication only reported a few days ago that Jansson was now the new cult hero of Leeds United, and was expected to be a success at the club.

Jansson is only on loan with Leeds United for the season after arriving from Serie A side Torino in the summer. However, the player recently revealed to the Swedish media that if he plays 20 games or more for the club then the move will be made permanent, which is looking very likely at this stage.
