Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has been grabbing the headlines in Sweden after his impressive season with the Championship side. The 25-year-old joined Leeds United in the summer, and has been a key player in Garry Monk’s team.

Fotbollskanalen have reported on Jansson’s debut season with Leeds United and the way he’s gone from being a substitute for Torino to being a hero.

The Swedish football outlet have highlighted the Leeds United star’s inclusion in the EFL Championship Team of the Year, which also includes his club teammate Chris Wood. His impressive performance against Brighton at the weekend has also been praised after the Elland Road side made ground on their promotion rivals.

Jansson will be hoping his current form will convince Janne Andersson to give him a regular staring place in the Sweden team now he’s away with his country. The Leeds United player has been included in all of Andersson’s squads, but has made just one start since the Euros.
