Championship Trophy

Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has been named in Talksport’s Championship team of the season so far. The 25-year-old joined Leeds United in the summer on loan from Torino, and has been instrumental in his side’s recent form.

Talksport have today released their team of the season after just eleven Championship games, and the Leeds United star has made the cut. They say since Jansson came to the England the Swede has become a ‘cult hero’ among the Elland Road faithful, and has helped fill the void left when club captain Sol Bamba exited the club last month.

It has also been highlighted Leeds United have lost just once in five games, which was when Jansson came off at half time against Queens Park Rangers.

The Sweden international signed for Leeds United on loan in the summer, with an agreement that if he plays twenty games he will become a permanent fixture at Elland Road for a fee in the region of £3.5m

Jansson has become a regular in Garry Monk’s side since making his league debut last month, and looks certain to meet the criteria after already playing six games for the club.
