Leeds United are one of the clubs who are interested in the signing of Fluminense winger Matheus Martins, according to reports from Brazil.
Outlet Globo Esporte is the one writing that following the potential shown by the player in his start in the first team, he’s already drawing the attention from European sides.
Besides Leeds, it’s said Ajax and Benfica are the other clubs who ‘sought information’ on the player ahead of the summer transfer window.
Still, it’s claimed there are no contacts open with Fluminense yet.
Even though there’s nothing more than approaches as of yet, Globo Esporte points out Matheus Martins could be the big sale done by the Rio de Janeiro club this year, recalling that they’d already turned down €7m from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2021.
The teenager only has 14 appearances for Fluminense’s first team so far, and is slowly showing his potential there.
With Leeds and other clubs interested, it’s likely they’ve been following him since his time at Flu’s academy.
