Whilst there’s still some ‘anxiety’ about Yosuke Ideguchi potentially moving to Leeds United, the deal is being treated as increasingly likely in Japan.
Indeed, much of the coverage now is about what will happen with the player after he’s signed for Leeds, given a work permit will be tough, and maybe impossible, to get.
That’s where the anxiety comes in and creates an uncertain situation, because whilst signing for Leeds United is attractive, the actual practicalities of the deal may be less so.
Tokyo Sports reports that it’s a consideration for Leeds United as they look to expand scouting, not only in Japan, but elsewhere around the world, and there’s not a definitive plan that those close to the Gamba Osaka player, and his transfer, are aware of.
An official offer from Leeds United is taken as given, something which is either in the process of happening, or which has happened already.
There’s every chance, given the way the Japanese season works and the open approach to transfers, that Leeds United could agree a deal before the window, which would be activated as soon as it opens.
But where would Yosuke Ideguchi end up? Nobody seems to know, and perhaps the Japan international feels past the level of Cultural Leonesa.
