According to reports in the German media, Hamburg are looking to sign Real Madrid forward Borja Mayoral, which is another signal Pierre-Michel Lasogga should be leaving the German club.
Lasogga has been linked with a move to Leeds United this month, and in recent days claims have resurfaced in Germany that the Championship side are still interested in the player.
Spox reports Hamburg are hoping to loan Mayoral for the season, following his previous spell with Wolfsburg.
Hamburg going for Mayoral underlines further that Lasogga isn’t even being considered, explain Sport Bild, and there will be hope Leeds United go through with their initial interest.
This week we covered reports from Germany that Leeds United were still giving consideration to signing Lasogga, and they have been the only club showing concrete interest. With the departure of Chris Wood to Burnley, Leeds United may need to bring in an experienced centre forward in the coming days, and Lasogga remains an option.
