Leeds United and Real Betis should soon announce the scheduling of a pre-season friendly between them, according to reports from Spain.
Outlet ABC writes that the clubs are currently in negotiations, and as the La Liga side are spending a few days in the UK, their last game in the country should be against the Whites.
The report claims the negotiations are well advanced, and the game should take place on the 31st of July, which will mark the ‘farewell’ of Betis in England.
The Spanish club are staying in England between the 26th and the 31st, and should also have a friendly against Derby County, so playing Leeds were the obvious choice to face a Premier League side with a short trip.
For now, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have made official their friendlies against Guiseley, Blackburn Rovers and Fleetwood Town.
The latest is scheduled for the 30th of July, so it sounds a little strange that they’d play Betis one day after, but, then again, it could be a chance to rotate the team entirely in the process.
Leeds United start their Premier League campaign against Manchester United on the 14th of August at Old Trafford.
