PSV hit Willem II with a ‘hammer’ at the weekend, report De Telegraaf on Monday.

The Eredivisie leaders have four wins from four games and have scored a total of 14 goals in those matches. Willem, who are 7th, will have been expecting a tough match, although they probably didn’t expect to lose it 6-1.

Vurnon Anita watched much of the game from the bench having arrived from the Championship on loan. The Leeds United player didn’t initially want to push his way out of Elland Road this summer, but when it was made clear he wasn’t counted on and wouldn’t be getting minutes under Marcelo Bielsa, things changed.

Despite the heavy defeat, Anita has taken the positives and is happy just to be out on the grass again.

De Telegraaf quote the player as saying: “It was wonderful to be back on the pitch. Too bad about the result. When my former teammate Aras Özbiliz went to Willem II, I congratulated him. He then asked about my situation and one thing led to another. I can finally play again.”

Anita wants to “have fun again” after his difficult spell with Leeds United.
