Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has told the Polish media he can play better for his national team.
The Leeds United player played for his country for the first time in four years last night.
Speaking in the mixed zone Klich was asked about his contribution during Poland’s 1-1 draw with Italy as covered by Polsatsport: “I am glad that after four years I was able to perform again in the national team of Poland and I had a contribution in getting the goal. I know, however, that I can play better.
“My impressions of working with Brzęczka are very positive. I hope that I will have the opportunity to present my skills to him.”
Klich’s career looked to be over at Leeds United after he was loaned to FC Utrecht during the second half of last season. The player made just five league appearances for the English club before moving back to the Netherlands.
However, under Marcelo Bielsa the Poland international has become a key player in the Leeds United team, starting all of their Championship games in this campaign.
His performances for the Elland Road club have helped get back in the Poland set up and he’s likely to be involved when they face the Republic of Ireland next week.
