Leeds United defender Ezgjan Alioski is the preferred option for Galatasaray this summer, with them also keen on Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt.
That’s according to Sporx, who say the Turkish side are currently deciding between the two players in their hunt for a new left-back.
They explain that Gala are set to part ways with Marcelo Saracchi this summer when his loan deal comes to an end, and so a replacement is needed.
Galatasaray have two players in mind, Alioski, who is set to leave Leeds on a free transfer and Van Aanholt, who will also be a free agent when his deal at Crystal Palace comes to an end.
The Dutchman was one of the first players that the club’s management met, and after negotiating for around a month and a half, he has ‘mostly reached an agreement’ with them.
However, the other name ‘sitting on the table’ is Alioski, who reacted to the early negotiations positively, helping Galatasaray to reach an ‘agreement in principle’ with the Leeds man.
Thus, the management are now at the decision stage.
Alioski is believed to be ‘slightly closer’ as he would come with a lower cost and can play in more than one position, unlike Van Aanholt.
However, no final decision has been made, so the Crystal Palace full-back still has a chance, with the final choice set for when the Turkish season comes to an end.
