According to a claim in the Swedish media, Leeds United forward Marcus Antonsson will be sold in this transfer window, but the player wants to remain in England.

Last season the 27 year old was sent out on loan to Blackburn Rovers and played a role in their promotion back to the Championship.

Fotboll Direkt have reported on the interest from Swedish clubs for the Leeds United player after recent claims Malmo and Hammarby are monitoring his situation at Elland Road.

However, it seems Swedish clubs could struggle to match Antonsson’s current salary at Leeds United and subsequently will be priced out of a permanent move for him.

Despite this it’s reported Antonsson could still be loaned out to a club in Sweden, and recently he said he’d evaluate all options.

Today it’s also been claimed Massimo Cellino’s Brescia are casting an eye on the Swede, with Gazzetta dello Sport saying the player is ‘close’ to the Serie B side.

The former Kalmar forward has two years left on his Leeds United contract.
