Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci has been linked with a move to Serie B side Pescara. The 28-year-old could be eyeing up a return to Italy, following his loan spell with Empoli last season.
Il Centro have reported Pescara are looking to rebuild their squad after relegation to Serie B last season. The Italian’s side’s manager Zdenek Zeman has made midfield and defence his priority this summer, and an option is Leeds United’s Bellusci.
Bellusci has just one year left on his contract with the Championship side, and despite returning to Elland Road for preseason training there’s a possibility he could still return to his home country.
However, with Pescara now in the second tier, Bellusci may want to play in Serie A at this stage of his career of he does go back to Italy. The central defender has been linked with a move to Cagliari in recent weeks, with claims the Sardinian club could use Bartosz Salamon in an exchange deal. Leeds United could entertain such a deal with Cagliari given Bellusci looks surplus to requirements at the club.
Bellusci isn’t exactly popular with Leeds United fans, and the club are looking to sell, so the more interest in him the better.
