Oriol Rey won’t be a Leeds United player for the coming season, and he’s already training with another club.
After several claims from Spain that Rey was on the verge of signing for Conquense, and that a move was considered a sure thing, it’s now reported that he’s already had his first training session with the Spanish club.
Despite the lack of an official announcement from Leeds United, Rey has been pictured in his new club’s shirt following training and spoke to the local media.
El Deporte Conquense quote the youngster as saying he wants to “add minutes and find a good place, here they supported me a lot and gave me a good opportunity and I have not thought twice about it.”
The move is reported to be a loan, which gives the transfer more sense.
Leeds United extended the former Barcelona youngster’s contract just a few months ago, and when they announced that deal it was made clear how highly Rey is thought of at Elland Road.
Rey has moved for minutes, but knows he’ll have to work to get them: “I try to give the best of myself in each training session, then it is the coach who decides and we’ll see.”
