Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson doesn’t expect Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic to return to Malmo beofre he retires. Both players had spells with the Swedish club, and the Leeds United star would welcome a return to his former club later in his career.

In an interview with Fotbollskanalen, Jansson was asked whether Ibrahimovic would consider a move back to Sweden with his former club.

The Leeds United star said jokingly Zlatan is a fake Malmo fan, so he doesn’t expect the Manchester United player to make that choice. However, Jansson thinks it would still be good if the former Sweden international were to play for Malmo, even though it’s unlikely.

“I do not expect him to. He’s just a fake Malmo fan. No, but it would have been a dream if he came here, but it is hard to see,” said the Leeds United player

Both Jansson and Ibrahimovic started their careers at Malmo, and have gone on to bigger things. The Leeds United cut hero has spoken about idolising the Manchester United star when he was younger, and went on to be his teammate in the national team.

In recent weeks there has been speculation regarding Ibrahimovic’s future, and whether he will remain in England or move to the MLS. Malmo, as far as Pontus Jansson is concerned, are out of the running.
