Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has made an official offer for Italian side Sampdoria but needs ‘bridging finance’ to complete a takeover.
That’s according to Il Secolo XIX, relayed by Calciomercato, who say that Radrizzani is firmly in the mix for the Italian club with time running out to find a buyer.
They explain that a proposal from Radrizzani, who is working with fellow businessman Matteo Manfredi, has arrived at Corte Lambruschini.
According to their information, the solution put on the table by the Leeds chief ‘would be in line’ with the requirements set by creditors, namely the banks, for debts to be repaid in eight years.
There is one ‘knot’ to him taking over, though, and that is the financial part of the agreement, which is considered ‘insufficient’.
For there to be an agreement, Radrizzani needs to find a bank capable of guaranteeing ‘bridging finance’ to help him overcome the more imminent expenses.
The Leeds chief is now holding ‘intensive contacts’ with advisors in an attempt to get an answer as soon as possible as he pushes to win the race for Sampdoria.
