Leeds United have seen what was a first offer for Udinese defender Jaka Bijol rejected but are set to continue talks for the 26-year-old today.
That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who reports that Leeds have received a first no from Udinese in their efforts to sign the centre-back.
According to his information, Leeds have made a first official offer for the defender, although there is no mention of the valuation of that offer.
Whatever it was, Udinese deemed it to be insufficient, and it was rejected out of hand. The various parties are now set to meet again in the next few hours to discuss the potential transfer.
Leeds United have been liked with a move for Bijol for weeks as they plan a big summer of spending to bolster their squad for a return to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke has reportedly been backed by the club’s ownership and the plan is to strengthen the squad in the coming weeks and months. Bijol is one of those seemingly at the top of the list, and talks are set to be resumed later today after an initial bid was rejected by Udinese.
