Leeds United target Jesus Vazquez could now be available for a full transfer, as opposed to the loan deal Valencia were previously thinking of.

That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who says Torino are also in the race for the full-back’s signature.

Leeds have been linked with a move for Vazquez since the middle of November, when it was made clear that they wanted to sign him and were eyeing up a deal in January.

Their interest in him has been consistently mentioned since, with reports in Spain making it clear Valencia are open to a loan deal for the youngster as he is not currently part of Gennaro Gattuso’s plans but will be in the future.

The prospect of a permanent exit was not being considered but it seems the thinking at the Mestalla may now have changed.

GDM explains that Torino are also keen on the Spaniard and are ‘keeping a close eye’ on him ahead of the window next month.

Valencia are asking for €4-5m, and Torino are ‘working to buy him outright’. That last part is a significant change given all reports regarding Leeds’ interest has been about a loan deal.

Perhaps those in charge at Valencia have now changed their minds and the opportunity for a permanent deal is now there, although they may now need to move quickly to get him ahead of Torino.
