Sometimes all you need to do is find the right environment to flourish, and for Leeds United’s Mateusz Bogusz, that appears to be UD Ibiza.
The midfielder joined Leeds from Ruch Chorzow in 2019 with plenty of excitement and a feeling the Whites may have a future star on their hands.
The youngster is yet to really establish himself at Elland Road, though, with just three appearances for the first team and two in the Under 23s so far.
Instead, he’s spent his time out on loan, first with UD Logroñés last season, where he managed one goal and one assist in 24 games and then UD Ibiza this year.
And that second loan appears to be going well if AS are to be believed today. They cover the youngster today, and it’s a very positive report.
They say the player is ‘still on a roll’ after starting the season brightly with the Spanish side and then getting a goal and two assists during the recent international break.
Ibiza have found a ‘new vein of talent’ in the midfielder, who has ‘fitted in perfectly’ with the Pitiusas so far.
He’s currently managed three goals and an assist in seven games and has been putting in ‘outstanding performances’ every time he has been on the pitch.
That’s now extended to the international set-up, where he also ‘shone’ in Poland’s U21’s win over San Marin and was his nation’s ‘key player’.
Unfortunately for Ibiza, this international break meant the Leeds man wasn’t available for them and he was sorely missed in a 5-1 defeat.
Now he’s back, though, and it’s stated he will give the coach ‘breathing space’ as he’ll have his top scorer back and available.
So, in conclusion, this loan is going superbly for the Leeds youngster, who is proving why everyone was excited about him in the first place.
